The Best Philly Cheesesteaks in Seattle
and surrounding areas.
One of the great creations in American cuisine. I will be reviewing the standard Philly, roll, steak, cheese and onion. In my opinion peppers don’t belong on a cheesesteak. Cheese Wiz is the first choice, as is popular in Philadelphia, second choice will be provolone. All candidates are sandwich or sub shops or the number of places would be enormous.
One thing I've learned from doing this blog is you should always call in in advance. They come out hot and they take a very long time to cool down. So even if you have to wait 20 minutes after you call, you're still going to have a very hot cheesesteak ready to go.
The ratings are very subjective. I didn’t have one Philly that I didn’t enjoy.
Philly N Smash
We’re starting out this list with a place that isn’t even in Seattle, it’s in Fife, Philly N Smash. This to me is a standard cheesesteak, which is good. Made with provolone, good bread, good amount of meat.

Charleys
This place is often found in malls. They were pretty decent and they added an Original Philly style to their menu that has cheese wiz which is even better than the regular cheese steaks they have. This isn’t my go to place, but if I’m at the mall food court, it’s a decent option.

Jersey Mike’s
This is another chain, but they have a pretty decent cheesesteak. As I said before, there aren’t any bad cheesesteaks on this list, they are all worth trying.

Tres’ House of Cheesesteaks
Tres House of cheese steak. Really good flavor, the quality of meat is high, perfect ratio of meat to bread, good quality bread and I believe they add some seasoning to the meat. This might be the best Philly I’ve had in Seattle.

Lasa
This Philly cheesesteak is from a Filipino restaurant. tons of flavor, not really the traditional style exactly but pretty similar and one of the most delicious cheese and steak sandwiches you can get in the Seattle area. I highly recommend this place if you haven’t checked it out, all their other sandwiches are great too!

Philly Ya Belly
Pretty good cheesesteak. They really go hard on the onions and the cheese isn't just on top it's mixed in with all the meat which is good. Also a very nice bun that's toasted and a good consistency. They give you a reasonable amount of meat, but they also have a belly buster version which I didn't get but the amount that you get normally seems like the appropriate amount of steak.

Tat’s Deli
Tats delicatessen, they put way more meat than could fit on the hoagie roll. It also soaked through the roll and at the end I was just picking the left over meat off the tray with my hands.
It might seem weird to some to hear me to complain about them give me too much meat but I prefer to be able to pick up the sandwich without a bunch of stuff falling off every time. I've been here in the past and I'm pretty sure it was a much better experience than this one but I have to rate what I’m given. This shows why it's so important to be consistent cuz if somebody came here for the first time they probably wouldn't go back. Having said that, I would still check this place out, because I know in the past they were better.

The Original Philly’s
Very good meat to bread ratio I like how the meat is very finely finally cut the hoagie roll is very good too. Well salted.

Ewrins Philly Cheesesteak
This one was pretty good. I like the onion/meat/cheese ratio, well cooked. The hoagie roll is very soft, the softest of any I’ve tried so far, which is nice. The only complaint I would have is it could have used a little bit more meat, although some people prefer the high bread to meat ratio.
7/10
Calozzi's cheesesteaks
This was very good, I really like how the meat was very thinly shaved and chopped up to small pieces. A good amount of meat really full but not so full that it became a huge mess. Cheese whiz that thoroughly coats the meat. Very tiny onions. My only complaint was that the hoagie was a little bit chewier than I like. But a very small gripe.
